Will Situ is an early-stage investor who has seen the deal from every angle—sourcing it, diligencing it, and carrying it to the Investment Committee. That full-cycle perspective is grounded in his work at the Rice Venture Fund, a $1.9M student-managed fund and one of the largest of its kind, where he leads deal flow for Enterprise SaaS. Each year he sources more than 1,000 startups through demos, pitch events, and cold outreach, narrows the field to 25 companies a semester for diligence, and advances the strongest to IC for potential $50K investments. Much of that pipeline he builds himself, channeling proprietary deal flow into the fund and gaining insight into not just how deals are evaluated, but how they are found.

He sharpened that instinct at Alinea Ventures in New York, where he led due diligence on two AI investments, presented investment memos directly to the IC, built fund models projecting MOIC, DPI, and IRR across management fee recycling scenarios, and sourced more than 50 fintech and AI deals.

Alongside the venture work, Will has built a strong foundation in the technical craft of finance. This summer he joins Jefferies’ TMT Investment Banking group in San Francisco as a Summer Analyst, following an earlier rotation at The Quant Group in Bangkok, where he modeled EV infrastructure transactions and led M&A analysis across AI and automation. He has also co-founded Consortium Equity Research, which covers financial names including $ICE, $APO, $ARCC, and $AMP, and serves as a Senior Analyst at the Rice Undergraduate Investment Fund, helping manage a $50K portfolio through equity research and DCF modeling.
